Solana Scaling Proposal Foresees ‘Billions’ of Users
Solana developers have proposed a plan to eliminate a significant bottleneck to scaling up to millions or even billions of users. They intend to do this by introducing a “lattice-based” hashing system that reduces the effort needed to keep track of the state of every user account. Hashing is the cryptographic process of turning data into a standardized 64-character code that can’t be reverse-engineered, while the state is a snapshot of the data stored in a blockchain. So instead of taking a snapshot of every user on the entire blockchain, and “recalculating everything, it will only update accounts that have changed,” explained research firm Republik Labs in an X post. “This is faster, simpler, and uses fewer resources, letting Solana handle millions (or billions) of accounts more easily.” To continue reading this as well as other DeFi and Web3 news, visit us at thedefiant.io Crypto Briefing
